Kelly Mahoney grew up on a small farm near Kimball, SD, the youngest of 6 children. He graduated from Kimball High School in 1990, and South Dakota State University in 1996. God got a hold of his life during his time in college, and his life dreams of building things as a mechanical engineer turned into a calling to build people instead. Kelly worked with youth from 1996-2005, at which point he headed to Virginia to attend Liberty Theological Seminary. After graduating with his Masters of Divinity in 2008, Kelly spent two years serving in Fargo ND, before making his way to Hope Community in 2010 as an associate pastor of small groups and discipleship, becoming head pastor shortly thereafter. He is passionate about discipling people and seeking the Word of God together through small groups. Pastor Kelly met his wife, Cheryl, at college, they were married in 1999 and have 3 sons and 1 daughter.
